Trust reporting: What happened next
Introducing our latest trust-level health and safety report.
Coming late September 2026
What’s new?
In late September 2026 we'll release our What happened next report which will help colleagues responsible for Health and Safety to identify, audit and triage incidents that take place at schools.
How does it work?
From the Reports module, or the Went to hospital tile on the overview, you'll be able to view a breakdown of incidents at your schools by what happened next. This shows whether the person stayed at school, went home or went to hospital.

When you drill down to the school level, you’ll be able to see the RIDDOR status as well as the status of any associated accident investigation.
What can I use it for?
Here’s how this could work at our demo school:
- A staff member going to hospital has been tagged as RIDDOR reportable, but there is no accident investigation yet. From this page you can click ‘View’ to see the incident details. Based on this information you can follow up with the school to check a) if the incident is actually RIDDOR reportable and b) request an accident investigation is started. For now, both these actions are completed by going into the school’s incidents and editing directly.
- A student has gone to hospital following a burn/scald injury, but the incident is not marked as RIDDOR reportable nor does it have an associated accident investigation. You can click 'View' to see more detail about the incident, and then follow up with the school as needed. If you have the appropriate permissions, you can go into the school's account and edit the record yourself.

How can I give feedback?
We’re particularly interested in hearing from trusts and users who manage health and safety for their schools centrally, as we’re looking to improve the process for identifying, triaging and actioning health and safety concerns across multiple sites.
