How to send notifications to parents when Medication stock is low / expired

In this guide we will demonstrate how to send notifications to parents to let them know that their students Medications is low / expired.

This will only work if the medication is linked to the medical condition. Please see our guidance here on how to link these - https://help.medicaltracker.co.uk/en/how-to-link-medical-conditions-1

Once your Medication is linked to the Medical Condition for the student Please follow these steps:

Firstly, Head to Medical Stock/Expiry > Search for the student > Ensure the Medication is linked to the condition.

Click into the record > Send Notification

You can then select from the template drop down which communication is relevant for example, If the Medication stock has expired. Screenshot 2025-07-24 at 10.58.11

In here you can choose how to communicate with parents wether this by via email, phone call, generated letter, in-person or via Schoolcoms (if this has been set up) by Clicking the Green Parent/Carer Notification.

Select your preferred communication > Then Click the Green Done.

Please Note - templates can be amended by heading to Settings > Manage Templates. Please see our guidance on managing templates here - https://help.medicaltracker.co.uk/en/articles/5079414-step-3-editing-and-creating-new-letter-and-email-templates
